What Is IgG4-Related
Disease?

If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with IgG4-RD, you probably have questions about the condition, what causes it, and possible treatment.

IgG4-RD is a rare, lifelong disease that causes various organs to become inflamed, so they may not work correctly. IgG4-RD can get worse without obvious symptoms, so you may not know it is happening.

Because the condition often affects the pancreas, some physicians may refer to it as type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) when the pancreas is involved.
